On September 5, freshmen of Grade 2008 happily set their foot in GUCM..
Totally 3228 freshmen has been matriculated in GUCM this year, of which 2914 students are undergraduates (2479 students from Guangdong Province, 435 students from other provinces) and  the specialist 314 people. Every specialty successfully accomplished its recruiting task. Some specialties, especially the three 7-year-study specialties( 7-year-study Chinese Medicine, 7-year-study Integrated Chinese and Western Clinical Medicine, and 7-year-study Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina), attracted great attentions, due to their renowned reputation.
After the work of students enrollment in late August, the school leaders attached great importance to the work of receiveing, holding conferences on receicving with each secondary faculty and correlated functional departments, such as Publicity Department, Educational Administration Department, Student Affairs Office, Security Department, Finance Department, Logistics Group, League, and Assess Administrative Department. And a considerate and feasible scheme was made on the basic of work experience last year.
The receiving scene remained at the living area between Student Apartment Building nine and ten as before. At that day, the school leaders, such as Huang Bin, Secretary of the university CPC committee, Xu Zhiwei, President of the university, and Chen Yinghua, Vice President of the university, came and instructed the work. After the principal of correlate departments introduced the situation of recruitment and receiving, the school leaders scouted the serving spots of each functional department and secondary faculties, and had a cordial conversation with some freshmen, parents and staffs.
In the evening, Huang Bin, Secretary of the university CPC committee, came to the Student Dorm Rooms and visited the freshmen of Grade 2008, accompanying with some staffs form functional departments and secondary faculties. The puzzled and perplexed freshmen feel quite comfortable after got responses about the problems of study and daily life from the school leaders.
September is a season with heavy fruites in golden autumn. GUCM is bound to grow stronger with the participation of every freshman.
